Volleyball extends win streak to 15

STEVENS POINT, Wis. – The UW-Stevens Point volleyball team needed extra sets in both matches on Saturday but extended its winning streak to 15 with a pair of victories over St. Norbert College, 3-2 and 3-1. 

The Pointers found themselves down 2-0 in the first match of the day against the Green Knights, but battled back to win in five, 15-25, 19-25, 25-18, 25-22, 15-13. Christina Brinkman (Bristol, WI/Westosha Central) led the way with 17 kills on 56 attempts while Kati Rau (Dorchester, WI/Colby) and Morgan Bartkowiak (Slinger, WI/Slinger) chipped in with 10 apiece. 

The two teams met for the second time on the day in the tournament's championship game, and the Pointers again needed to post a comeback, this time from just one set down, rallying to win 23-25, 25-15, 25-14, 25-16. Brinkman again led with 13 kills while Rau added 11. 

Stevens Point (23-6, 6-1 WIAC) will close out the nonconference portion of its schedule on Monday with a 7 p.m. match-up with Edgewood College.
