STEVENS POINT, Wis. – The UW-Stevens Point volleyball team pushed its winning streak to 13 games as the team improved to 21-6 on the season, aided by a pair of nonconference victories over Augustana College and Carroll University Friday evening.
The 21 wins matches the win total the Pointers posted all of last season.
The Pointers opened the day with a 25-9, 25-9, 25-9 straight sets victory over the Vikings of Augustana.
Allison Davis (Rochelle, IL/Rochelle Township) led the way with eight kills while
Sarah Wildish (Menomonee Falls, WI/Menomonee Falls) chipped in six.
Alexis Hartman (Deer Park, IL/Lake Zurich) had 23 assists and
Christina Brinkman (Bristol, WI/Westosha Central) had a team-high seven digs.
In the night cap, the Pointers continued to roll, defeating Carroll University 25-15, 25-17, 25-6.
Morgan Bartkowiak (Slinger, WI/Slinger) and Brinkman led the way with eight kills each while
Ally Groth (Germantown, WI/Germantown) added 10 digs.
UW-Stevens Point will take on St. Norbert College in action beginning at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 22 in Berg Gym, followed by a second match, scheduled for a noon start, with an opponent to be determined.
