STEVENS POINT- The UW-Stevens Point women's volleyball team pushed its home record to 5-0 Tuesday evening with a 3-0 defeat of the Saints of St. Scholastica. The Pointers won by scores of 25-16, 25-14, and 25-17.
Christina Brinkman (Bristol, WI/Westosha Central) led the Pointers, as she finished the match with 13 kills and 10 digs. Senior
Kaitlin Wolfe (Roscoe, IL/Newman Catholic) and sophomore
Morgan Bartkowiak (Slinger, WI/Slinger) added 11 kills each for the Pointers.
Junior
Chantel York (Lake Geneva/Badger) also had a big night for UWSP as she finished with 37 of the teams 42 assists on the evening. Also helping lead the Pointers to victory was junior
Molly Elderbrook (Burlington/Burlington) with 15 digs.
The win was the third straight win for the Pointers after finishing the Red Hawk Invitational this past weekend with a pair of wins over Lakeland and Maranatha Baptist.
The loss snaps a two-game win streak for the Saints, who were led by Anna Zyvoloski's seven kills.
The Pointers (13-5) return to action on Friday when they travel to Madison to face Edgewood College in another non-conference game beginning at 7:30 p.m.
