ROCK ISLAND, Ill. – The UW-Stevens Point men's cross country team placed four runners in the top six and all five point-scoring runners in the top 11 on their way to the team title at the 2010 Brissman/Lundeen Cross Country Invitational hosted by Augustana College.
Tim Thornburg (Delafield/Kettle Moraine),
Terry Witkowski (Delafield, WI/Kettle Moraine) and
Joel Heroux (Sturgeon Bay/Sevastopol) took home the top three individual spots on the afternoon en rout to collecting 23 team points, 32 points ahead of second place Augustana.
Sean Hasenstein (Sheboygan/Sheboygan Lutheran) finished sixth at the event while
Evan Cooper (Delafield, WI/Kettle Moraine) finished 11th.
Elsewhere for the Pointers,
Dan Sullivan (Elkhorn, WI/Elkhorn) finished 26th and
Alex Steiner (Chilton, WI/Chilton) finished 32nd. Also running at the event were
Spencer Siddons (Andover, MN/Andover) who finished 39th,
James Heroux (Sturgeon Bay, WI/Sevastopol) finished 48th,
Cole VanderLeist finished 55th,
Brian Jensen (Kenosha, WI/Bradford) finished 57th,
Jon Trzebiatowski (Rosholt, WI/Rosholt) finished 85th,
Logan Seipel (Colfax, WI/Colfax) finished 96th,
Michael Moore finished 99th,
Tim Nitschke (Glendale/Nicolet) finished 133rd,
Andrew Dieterich finished 137th,
Eric Carlson finished 139th,
Scott Berry (Rudolph, WI/Lincoln) finished 153rd,
Mitch Isaacson (Glen Ellyn, IL/Glenbard East) finished 191st,
Nicholas Duckow finished 295th,
David Litsheim (Appleton, WI/East) finished 373rd after completing just two kilometers of the event.
The Pointers return to action on Friday, Oct. 1 when they travel to South Bend, Ind. For the Notre Dame Invitational.
