MEQUON – Freshman Molly Cobb (Madison, WI/LaFollette) paced the Pointer women's cross country team to a fifth place showing at the 2010 Falcon Invite on Saturday afternoon. Cobb posted a team-best time of 25:55, good for 17th place.

The Pointers tallied a team score of 103 at the season's first competitive event while host Concordia led the way with a team total of 54 points.

Lizzy Nelson (Waupaca, WI/Iola-Scandinavia) finished 18th for the Pointers with a time of 25:58 while Zoe Bitner (Menasha/Menasha) finished in 19th with a time of 25:58.

Rounding out the top five finishers for the Pointers was Jodi Bellas (Watertown/Watertown), who posted a time of 26:08, good for 24th and Amanda Gauthier (Chicago, IL/Hinsdale South) who finished in 25th with a time of 26:18.

Also running for the Pointers at the event Caitlin Welch (Sturgeon Bay, WI/Sevastopol), who posted a time of 27:27 (40th) and Tara Whiting (McFarland/McFarland) who finished with a time of 27:31 (42nd).

The Pointers return to action next Friday, Sept. 24 at the Augustana Invitational in Rock Island, Ill.
