SUPERIOR – The UW-Stevens Point women's volleyball team picked up its first conference win of the 2010 season on Friday evening with a 3-0 victory over the Yellowjackets of UW-Superior. The Pointers won the straight sets match 25-20, 25-18, 25-23.

The Pointers were led by lone senior Kaitlin Wolfe (Roscoe, IL/Newman Catholic), who's 11 kills on 26 swings (.308) was a team-high. Kati Rau (Dorchester, WI/Colby) chipped in eight kills and Morgan Bartkowiak (Slinger, WI/Slinger) added seven. Chantel York (Lake Geneva/Badger) posted all 31 of the team's assists while Bartkowiak registered three solo blocks and one block assist.

The Yellowjackets were led by Jessica Zimmerman who tallied six kills in a losing effort for Superior.

UW-Stevens Point (10-3, 1-1 WIAC) returns to action on Saturday, Sept. 18 when they travel to UW-Eau Claire for a Noon match-up against the Blugolds.
