Bieschke Hat Trick Helps Pointers Past Rams

STEVENS POINT- Senior Vicki Bieschke had three goals and an assist as the UW-Stevens Point women's soccer team defeated Cornell College (Iowa) 7-0 Sunday afternoon at the Point Soccer Bowl.

Kirsti Nickels got to scoring started for the Pointers, scoring early in the first half. Bieschke then scored off assists from Nickles and Mary Jean Cornelius to put the Pointers up 2-0.

Senior Brittany Boyer then made the score 3-0 with a late first half goal, as the Pointers went into halftime leading 3-0.

In the second half Bieschke added two more goals to complete the hat trick and also assisted a goal by sophomore Angela Gallow. Sophomore Laquen Koester had the final goal for the Pointers.

The Pointer defense made life easy for goalkeeper Kayla Skotzke as she made one save on the day for the Pointers.

The Pointers return to action on Wednesday, September 15 against UW-La Crosse at the Point Soccer Bowl. Game time is set for 4:00 p.m.
