STEVENS POINT – Nick Graves (Hewitt, WI/Ashwaubenon) stopped 36 shots and the Pointers offense scored four times as the UW-Stevens Point men's hockey team shut out the Blue Devils 4-0 Saturday evening at K.B. Willett Arena.

Kyle Greco (Hillside, IL/Fenwick) got the scoring started with a goal with 10:52 remaining in the first period with assists from Nick Kenney (Wixom, MI/Walled Lake Western) and Creighton (Buchanan, MI/Pendleton)Scarpone# .

With 6:47 left in the second period Jon Madden (Brighton, MI/Howell) was the next Pointer to find the back of the net. Travis Erstad (Stevens Point, WI/SPASH) and Luke Nesper (Eagle River, WI/Northland Pines) had the assists on the play.

With 49 seconds the game came to a standstill when a fight broke out behind the Stout goal. Nine penalties were handed out along with two more just eight seconds later. All together, the Pointers totaled 12 penalties for 24 minutes. The Blue Devils committed nine penalties for 18 minutes.

The Pointers finally put the game away in the final period with goals from Johnny Meo and Nesper. Reed Lally (Duluth, MN/East) assisted Meo's goal and Garrett Suter (Madison/Oregon) assisted Nesper.

UW-Stevens Point (11-13-1, 6-12-0 NCHA) will face travel to Menomonie to face off against the same Blue Devil team next week Friday, February 19th. The puck is set to hit center ice at Dunn County Ice Arena at 7:30 p.m.
