Men's Basketball
Matt Moses (Fond du Lac/St. Mary Springs), Senior (Fond du Lac, Wis.)
Senior Matt Moses (Fond du Lac, Wis.) is the Pointer men's basketball Athlete of the Week for the second consecutive week. Moses had 12 points, shot 56% from the field, grabbed five rebounds and had a team high three assists while playing 33 minutes in a tough loss to nationally ranked UW-Whitewater. Against UW-Superior Moses led a Pointer resurgence scoring 14 points while dishing out a game high six assists in a blow-out win. Moses has scored in double figures the last five games and has made his last 16 free-throw attempts.
Women's Basketball
Andrea Flease (New London/New London), Junior (New London, Wis.)
For the second straight week Andrea Flease, junior (New London, Wis.), is the Pointer women's basketball Athlete of the Week. Scoring a season high 24 points Flease led the Pointers to a win over conference rival and nationally ranked UW-Whitewater. Flease was 6-10 from the field, 2-3 from beyond the arc and 10-13 from the charity stripe. Flease also finished the day with seven rebounds, four assists and three steals. Facing UW-Superior, Flease scored six points while dishing out a game high five assists in limited action while the Pointers cruised to their 12th straight win and a 1 ½ game lead in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.
Men's Hockey
Johnny Meo (Vernon Hills, IL/Ursuline), Freshman (Vernon Hills, Ill.)
Johnny Meo, freshman (Vernon Hills, Ill.) had two goals in two games this week. Against No. 3, ranked St. Norbert Meo tallied the lone Pointer goal in a tough loss. In the second period Meo flicked the puck off the St. Norbert keeper to score his fifth goal of the season. On Friday night at UW-Eau Claire, Meo tallied the third goal of the game midway through the second period of a 4-3 Pointer win.
Women's Hockey
Erin Marvin (Shoreview, MN/Mounds View), Sophomore (Shoreview, Minn.)
In a tough weekend match-up with nationally ranked UW-River Falls Erin Marvin, sophomore (Shoreview, Minn.), tallied one of two Pointer goals for the series. On Friday Marvin scored the lone Pointer goal on a power-play strike at the 17:55 mark of the third period. On Saturday the Marvin led Pointer attack tallied 19 shots in a 1-1 overtime tie. Marvin has seven goals and seven assists so far in the 2009-10 season.
Wrestling
Bret Oswald (Antigo/Antigo), Senior (Antigo, Wis.)
Bret Oswald, senior (Antigo, Wis.), won four matches this week. Monday against St John's Oswald was one of only two Pointers with a victory. Oswald defeated Cody Socher with a 2-1 overtime victory. Over the weekend Oswald was 3-1 and finished second in the North Country Open hosted by St. John's University. Oswald, ranked No., 3, in the tournament defeated John Heinen of Minnesota State-Mankato by a score of 7-5 to open the tournament. In the second round Oswald defeated St. John's Cody Socher for the second time in a week with a 4-1 decision. In the semi-finals Oswald was victorious over the tournament's second ranked wrestler and All-American Tony Neumann of Concordia Minnesota with a tight 5-4 decision before falling in the finals by a score of 3-2. For 2009-10 Oswald is 17-13 with seven pins.
Swimming
Lindsay Lukes (Austin, MN/), Senior (Austin, Minn.)
In a repeat from last week Lindsey Lukes, senior (Austin, Minn.), is the Pointer women's swimming Athlete of the Week. Lukes finished second in the 200 yard Freestyle event with a time of 1:57.39 and first in the 500 yard freestyle with a time of 5:19.61. However it was Lukes's performance swimming the last leg of the 400 yard freestyle that sealed the team win for the Pointer women. With UW-La Cross leading by three and only the 400 Freestyle Relay remaining, Lukes swam the fastest leg of the relay to win by a touch and claim the event and the team title for UWSP.
Sam Davy (Stevens Point, WI/), Sophomore (Stevens Point, Wis.)
Sam Davy, sophomore (Stevens Point, Wis.), claimed three first place finishes this past weekend in a dual meet with UW-La Crosse. Davy finished first in the 100 yard Freestyle and the 200 yard Freestyle with times of 47.20 and 1:46.09 respectively. Davy also anchored the first place 400 Medley Relay team than finished with a time of 3:30.08.

Men:
Track –
Mike Delleman (Oregon/Oregon), Senior (Oregon, Wis.)
Mike Delleman, senior (Oregon, Wis.) had two podium finishes this past weekend at the Pointer Quad meet. Delleman finished first in the 55 meter hurdles with an NCAA provisional qualifying time of 7.66, more than 0.3 faster than the second place finisher. Delleman also finished second in the high jump with a height of 1.9 meters.
Field –
Kyle Scofield (Green Bay/Preble), Senior (Green Bay, Wis.)
Kyle Scofield, senior (Green Bay, Wis.) earned ten points for the Pointer track team this past weekend at the Pointer Quad meet. Scofield's NCAA provisional qualifying throw of 15.63 meters was good for first place in the shot put event.

Track –
Kathleen Folbrecht (Jefferson/Jefferson), Junior (Jefferson, Wis.)
Kathleen Folbrecht junior (Jefferson, Wis.) finished first and third in a pair of events this past weekend. Folbrecht won the 400 meter dash with a NCAA provisional qualifying time of 58.61. In the 200 meter dash Folbrecht finished third with a time of 27.49.

Bethany Utecht (Fredonia/Northern Ozaukee), Sophomore (Fredonia, Wis.)
Sophomore Bethany Utecht (Fredonia, Wis.) took home the title in the women's weight throw event. Utecht's throw of 13.65 meters earned ten points for the meet champion Pointers.
