Anderson, Herzer, Kopp, Trant Earn Subway Athletes of the Year Honors

STEVENS POINT, Wis. – The UW-Stevens Point athletics department has announced the recipients of the 2024-25 Subway Athletes of the Year awards. Fletcher Anderson and Ashley Kopp of men's hockey and women's volleyball picked up honors for male and female team sports. Jade Herzer and Declan Trant of women's wrestling and men's diving were awarded for female and male individual sports.
 
Fletcher Anderson (Men's Hockey)
Anderson earned his second-straight All-America honor from AHCA this season and was a Sid Watson Finalist for the third-consecutive season. He was bestowed WIAC Player of the Year honors for the third-straight season as well as his third-straight All-WIAC first team selection. Anderson led the conference with 36 points, 100 shots and 1.38 points per game this season. He was second in the WIAC in assists and seventh in goals. He posted multi-point nights 11 times this season and was the WIAC Player of the Week the final week of the season.
 
Jade Herzer (Women's Wrestling)
Herzer picked up three wins at the NCWWC Championships and was the only UWSP wrestler to advance to day two of nationals. She was one of eight Pointers to compete at nationals and finished the year with a 20-10 record. She pinned her opponent six times and won eight times by tech fall on the year. Herzer is the all-time wins leader in UWSP women's wrestling program history with a career record of 90-35. Off the mat, Herzer helped the Pointers record the sixth-best team grade point average among NWCA programs.
 
Ashley Kopp (Volleyball)
Kopp became the first player in UWSP history to repeat as an AVCA First-Tema All-America selection and the first in WIAC history to earn All-America honors in four seasons. She was the Region 8 Player of the Year and the WIAC Offensive Player of the Year. Kopp picked up her fourth-straight all-region and All-WIAC first team selections. She finished her UWSP career with 2,209 career kills, the 21st-most in NCAA Division III history. She also tied the UWSP program record with her 208 career service aces. This season, Kopp had 541 kills, the third-most in the country. It was her fourth-consecutive season with at least 500 kills. Kopp was twice named WIAC Offensive Player of the Week this season and she was an all-tournament selection four times.
 
Declan Trant (Swimming & Diving)
Trant earned All-America honors in the one-meter dive after placing 11th at the NCAA Championships in March. He is the first male diver to land All-America honors since 2004. He competed in the three-meter dive at the NCAA Championships, placing 17th. Trant won the one-meter dive at the WIAC Championships and was second in the three-meter at the conference championships. He was the WIAC Co-Diver of the Meet and was named the WIAC Diver of the Week five times this year. During the season, Trant won the one-meter dive at seven meets and the three-meter dive at six meets in 2024-25.
