Pointers Perfect on West Coast Trip with Another Blowout

PHOENIX, Ariz. – Jordan Brezinski (Muskego, WI/Muskego) led the Pointers in scoring for the second straight day as the fourth-ranked UW-Stevens Point men's basketball team wrapped up their four game road trip with a 93-60 blowout victory over Linfield College at the Cactus Jam tournament. 

Over the four game's the Pointers played on their road trip they outscored their opponents 335-226 and in three games outscored their opponents by at least 33 points. 

UW-Stevens Point forced 19 Linfield turnovers and turned them into 23 points. The Pointers also held a 16-0 advantage in points in the paint in the final game of the road trip to stay perfect in both the pacific and mountain time zones. 

The Pointers never trailed as they controlled the game from the opening tip and continued to dominate, pushing their advantage to 38 by halftime. 

In the second half, the Pointers maintained their 30-plus point advantage the full 20 minutes as they went on to the 33 point victory. 

Five Pointers scored in double figures, led by Brazinski's 13. Scott Hoelzel (Kaukauna/Kaukauna) added 12 and Jerrel Harris (Milwaukee/Dominican), Dan Tillema (Randolph, WI/Randolph/Minnesota-Duluth) and DeVon Jackson (Milwaukee/Rufus King/Williston State) each tallied 11. 

UW-Stevens Point (9-2) returns home to dive into conference action on Wednesday, Jan. 5 when the Titans of UW-Oshkosh visit Quandt Fieldhouse for a 6 p.m. showdown with the Pointers.
