Pointers place sixth at NCAA DIII Championship

WAVERLY, Iowa – The UW-Stevens Point men's cross country team finished out their season strong as they placed sixth overall at the NCAA Division III Championship at Wartburg College on Saturday afternoon.

Junior Terry Witkowski led the charge for the Pointers as he finished sixth overall with a time of 24:36.1.

Joel Herouxand Tim Thornburg also finished in the top-35 as Heroux placed 26th with a time of 24:52.8 and Thornburg finished in 33rd with a time of 25:03.9.

Sean Hasenstein, Evan Cooper, Dan Sullivan and Spencer Siddons also contributed to the Pointers total time of 2:05:35.1.

Haverford finished first overall, totaling 87 places and North Central (Ill.) received runner-up with 104. UW-Stevens Point finished with a total of 226.

UW-Platteville also placed in the top-five with a fourth place finish.
