WHITEWATER - The UW-Stevens Point women's volleyball team saw their Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) tournament run come to an end on Tuesday evening, falling 3-0 to the nation's 14th-ranked Warhawks of UW-Whitewater.
The Pointers fell by scores of 25-16, 25-17, 25-16.
Kaitlin Wolf led the way for the Pointers with eight kills while Christina Brinkman (Bristol, WI/Westosha Central) finished with seven. Chantel York (Lake Geneva/Badger) tallied 14 of the Pointers 20 assists and Brinkman had a team-high 13 digs.
Three Warhawks finished with double digit kills, led by Sofia Sanchez's 13.
The Pointers finish the season with a record of 21-13, their highest win total since 2007. UW-Whitewater (27-7) advances to play top-seeded UW-Eau Claire in the semifinal round on Friday, Nov. 5.
