COLFAX, Wis. – Kelly Haen (Kaukauna, WI/Kaukauna) posted a time of 22 minutes 31 seconds to finish as the individual runner-up and lead the Pointer women's cross country team to a team runner-up finish at the 2010 Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Women's Cross Country Championships.
The remaining five point-getters for UWSP finished in the top-21 at the 102 runner field including two more in the top-10. Claire Roberts (Oakfield/Horace Mann) finished in sixth place with a time of 22:47 and Sarah Glunn (Arbor Vitae/Lakeland Union) finished ninth with a time of 22:52.
Shaun Krueger (Kiel/Kiel) finished 10th with a time of 22:57 and rounding out the top five was freshman Kelsea Laska who finished in 18th with a time of 23:22.
Elsewhere for UWSP, Annie Olson (Stillwater, MN/Stillwater) finished 37th, Nikki Bruhn (Marshfield, WI/Marshfield) finished 40th, Erica Claas (Waukesha, WI/West) finished 61st, Abby Reynolds (Windlake, WI/Warterford Union) finished 64th, Brittany Dantinne (Green Bay/Luxemberg-Casco) finished 75th, Nicole Hillman (Marshall, WI/Marshall) finished 80th and Nicki Orlando (Racine/Park) finished 88th.
The Pointers will now head to the NCAA Division III Midwest Regional next weekend in Rock Island, Ill. and compete for a chance to qualify as a team for the 2010 NCAA Division III Championships in Waverly, Iowa, hosted by Wartburg College.
