STEVENS POINT - The UW-Stevens Point soccer team pushed its record to 10-0 on the season as they defeated the Blue Devils of UW-Stout by a score of 3-0 Saturday at the Point Soccer Bowl.

Leading the way for the Pointers was senior Mary Jean Cornelius (West Bend/West) as she scored two goals. Senior Kelly Lloyd (Fond du Lac/Fond du Lac) added two assists for the Pointers.

Angela Gallow (Menasha, WI/Menasha) got the Pointer scoring started as she scored midway through the first half. Lloyd sent a pass sailing over the defense and Gallow was there for the header to put the Pointers up 1-0.

Cornelius then scored an unassisted goal with 24:25 left in the game, giving the Pointers a 2-0 lead. She then struck again two minutes later off a pass from Lloyd putting the Pointers up 3-0.

Senior goalkeeper Liz Hunter (Stevens Point/SPASH) recorded her seventh shutout of the season. Hunter made a great save early in the second half as she was just able to reach and hit the ball away keeping the score at 1-0.

The Pointers return to action on Tuesday as they travel to Wheaton (Illinois). Game time is set for 4:30 p.m.
