WAUKESHA – The 15th-ranked UW-Stevens Point women's soccer team needed only one goal on Tuesday evening on their way to a 1-0 nonconference victory over the Pioneers of Carroll University.
After a scoreless opening half, freshman
Carly Falk (Green Bay, WI/Bay Port) scored at the 71:11 mark, sending a
Vicki Bieschke (Oconomowoc/Waukesha Memorial) pass into the goal.
Senior
Liz Hunter (Stevens Point/SPASH) tallied a season-high seven saves in net for the Pointers, earning her 10th shutout of the year. Her counterpart, Taylor Mclean, faced 17 shots from the Pointers but just four on net.
The Pointers (13-1) improve to 6-0 all-time against the Pioneers.
UW-Stevens Point returns to conference action on Thursday when they host UW-Platteville at the Point Soccer Bowl. Game time is scheduled for 4 p.m.
