Thornburg Paces Pointers to Third Place Finish

Results

SOUTH BEND, Ind. – Tim Thornburg (Delafield/Kettle Moraine) posted a time of 25:15, pacing the UW-Stevens Point men's cross country team to a third place finish in the men's gold division at the 2010 Notre Dame Cross Country Invitational.

The Pointers finished third in the field of 16 teams, featuring both NCAA Division II and III teams.

Terry Witkowski (Delafield, WI/Kettle Moraine) finished 12th for the Pointers, posting a time of 25:31, Joel Heroux (Sturgeon Bay/Sevastopol) finished in 25th place with a time of 25:43, Alex Steiner (Chilton, WI/Chilton) finished 38th with a time of 26:01 and Evan Cooper (Delafield, WI/Kettle Moraine) finished 42nd with a time of 26:03 to round out the top five finishers for the Pointers.

Elsewhere Sean Hasenstein (Sheboygan/Sheboygan Lutheran) finished 52nd, Spencer Siddons (Andover, MN/Andover) finished 80th, Dan Sullivan (Elkhorn, WI/Elkhorn) finished 88thand James Heroux (Sturgeon Bay, WI/Sevastopol) finished 94th in the field of 137 runners.

The Pointers, ranked 13th in the latest USTFCCCA poll, return to action October 9 at the Ripon Invitational.
