MOORHEAD, Minn. – UW-Stevens Point out-shot the Cobbers 45-31 as
Jon Madden scored twice and five other Pointers scored on the evening as the Pointers evened their record at 8-8-1 overall, cruising to a 7-1 victory over Concordia-Moorhead.
UW-Stevens Point jumped in front early and took a 2-0 advantage at the 16:22 mark of the game's opening period. Concordia struck back in the closing seconds of the opening period, cutting the Pointer lead to just one at the first break.
But in the second, the Pointers piled on two more goals, one shorthanded, and added three in the third to cruise to the 7-1 victory.
Madden,
Johnny Meo (Vernon Hills, IL) and
Garrett Suter (Madison) all recorded three points each on the evening while
Reed Lally (Duluth, MN),
Luke Nesper (Eagle River) and
Harrison Niemann (Canton, MI) each added two in the victory.
UW-Stevens Point returns to action Jan. 22-23 with a pair of games at UW-River Falls. Action both nights begins at 7 p.m.
