DECORAH, Iowa – Senior Jackie Spees (Wisconsin Rapids) and freshman Kirsti Nickels (Appleton) each tallied a goal and an assist in the Pointers 3-0 victory over Nebraska Wesleyan on Sunday afternoon on day two of the Luther Labor Day Classic.

Spees scored in the game's third minute, assisted by Nickels, giving the Pointers the early advantage for the second time in as many days.

Early in the second half, Nickels found the back of the net, this time off a Spees pass to put the UWSP in front 2-0. In the 60th minute junior Brittany Boyer (West Bend) got in on the action, finding the back of the net for the final goal and a 3-0 victory.

Junior goalie Liz Hunter (Stevens Point) tallied her second win in net for UWSP, facing just one shot on goal as the defense in front of her allowed just the one shot all day.

The Pointers (2-1) return to action on Sept. 12 when they open Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play at UW-River Falls. Game time is scheduled for 2 p.m.
