MINNEAPOLIS - The UW-Stevens Point volleyball team dropped both games on the final day of the Augsburg College tournament, falling 3-0 to seventh ranked University of St. Thomas and Northwestern-Roseville.
Michaela Rheineck (St. Paul, MN) led the way in game one with a team-best eight kills in 23 attempts while
Pam Nora (Forest Lake, Minn.) chipped in six.
Chantel York (Lake Geneva) tallied 15 assists and
Lizzy Taylor (Eau Claire) recorded 13 digs in the losing effort.
Against Northwestern, Nora and
Christina Brinkman (Bristol) led the way with six kills each while the Pointers tallied 27 hitting errors en route to the 25-15, 25-10, 25-13 loss.
Kaitlin Wolfe (Roscoe, IL) had a team-best eight assists while Taylor added nine digs and
Kati Rau (Dorchester, WI/Colby) added six.
The Pointers (3-7) return to action on Wednesday, Sept. 16 when they travel to UW-Platteville for the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) opener in Platteville at 7 p.m.
