GREEN BAY – After a scoreless first period, the Green Knights scored two second period goals and held the advantage as St. Norbert improved to 6-0-1 overall, 4-0 in Northern Collegiate Hockey Association (NCHA) action with a 2-0 victory over the UW-Stevens Point men's hockey team.
The Pointers fall to 2-5 on the young season, 0-4 in the NCHA.
Thomas Speer (Janesville) tallied 14 saves in the first period to keep the nation's top-ranked Green Knight in check, as both teams skated to a scoreless first period.
In the second, St. Norbert received goals from Tyler Allen and Nick Tabisz to go in front 2-0.
In the third, St. Norbert's B.J. O'Brien stopped all five Pointer shots on goal, recording 18 saves overall, en route to their second straight victory over the Pointers.
The Pointers return to action on Friday and Saturday, Nov. 20-21, when they travel to Menomonie for a weekend series with the Blue Devils of UW-Stout. Friday's action is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
