MENOMONIE – The UW-Stevens Point women's volleyball team pulled back to .500 in conference play on Friday evening, defeating the Blue Devils of UW-Stout 3-1. The Pointers won 18-25, 25-17, 25-19, 25-18.
After dropping the night's opening game 18-25, the Pointers rebounded with three straight victories over the Blue Devils (9-9, 0-3 WIAC) to win their second conference match of the season, pushing their record to 2-2 in league play, 9-11 overall.
Michaela Rheineck (St. Paul, MN) led the way for the Pointers with 11 kills while senior
Pam Nora (Forest Lake, Minn.) added nine and
Kaitlin Wolfe (Roscoe, IL) added seven in the four set victory.
Chantel York (Lake Geneva) led the way with 20 assists while Wolfe chipped in 19.
Nora also recorded 21 digs on the evening while
Morgan Bartkowiak (Slinger) added five block assists on the evening.
The Pointers return to action on Saturday, Oct. 3 in a Noon match-up with the Falcons of UW-River Falls.
