Van Ess racked up 10 hits, five of which were for extra bases, in UWSP’s four game series at UW-La Crosse. He hit .588 (10-for-17) with 19 total bases and a slugging percentage of 1.118. He hit a home run in each game of Saturday’s doubleheader and added three doubles on the weekend. He hit safely in all four games with back-to-back 4-for-5 games in the middle of the series. He scored nine runs and drove in seven in the series.

Paulsen shut out UWL over five innings of relief to earn the win on Saturday. He struck out five without a walk allowed.
