Simmons etched his name in the UWSP record books while helping the Pointers to a four-game sweep of UW-La Crosse.  He had multiple hits in both games on Wednesday with a home run and a then career-high five RBI in the series opener.  Then on Saturday at UWL, he belted a grand slam in the second inning of game two.  In the fifth inning, he ripped a two-run triple, his program-record 13th career triple, for a career-best six RBI performance.  On the week, Simmons hit .389 with four of his seven hits going for extra bases.  He drove in 11 runs and scored six times to go with a .889 slugging percentage.

Sidney Ferry, Baseball
Ferry picked up a win and a save in two relief appearances to help UWSP sweep UWL last week.  He tossed 4.2 innings with just two hits against and no runs allowed.  He struck out five. In the series opener, he came on in the seventh and shut the door allowing just one base runner the rest of the game as the Pointers rallied from a two-run deficit.  In the series finale, he pitched the final two frames and left a pair stranded in the ninth to earn the save.

Alex Poncelet, Men's Track and Field
Poncelet won the hammer throw at the Warhawk Invite with a new personal best of 57.22 meters, over a meter farther than his previous best. He is currently ranked as the #2 hammer thrower in the WIAC and #5 nationally.
