STEVENS POINT, Wis. – After a lengthy lightning delay pushed back the start time, the WU-Stevens Point men's soccer team (2-0-0) scored twice in the first half to earn a 2-0 victory over Dubuque (0-2-0) on Friday night.
Jaxon Buckley (Kingsford, Mich./Kingsford) opened the scoring in the 21st minute, his first goal of the season and the eventual match-winner.
Connor Urban (Waukesha, Wis./West) had an assist on the goal.
In the 42nd minute,
Dylan Morosky (Eau Claire, Wis./North) netted his first goal of the year to put UWSP up by a 2-0 score.
Marcelo Chavez (Verona, Wis./Verona Area) provided a helper on the play, his first point of the season.

Jacob Havlik (Onalaska, WIs./Onalaska) made four saves to pick up his second shutout win of the season. UD goalkeeper Tyler Jerkins made two saves.
The Pointers head south for the first road match of the year at Illinois Tech on Saturday (Sept. 5). Kickoff is at 7:00 p.m. in Chicago.
