BELOIT, Wis. – The UW-Stevens Point men's soccer team (3-3-0) snapped a three-match winless streak with a 3-1 win at Beloit (0-6-0) on Tuesday.
Aissen Witter (Rothschild, Wis./D.C. Everest) got his first collegiate start in net and made two saves in the first half to send the match to halftime still knotted at 0-0.
The Buccaneers got on the board in the 55th minute to put UWSP down, 1-0.
Jaxon Buckley (Kingsford, Mich./Kingsford) got the Pointers level at 1-1 with his first of the game in the 79th minute.
Buckley put UWSP in front in the 81st minute, the eventual match winner. Both of his goals to this point were unassisted.
He completed the hat trick in the 87th minute off an assist from
Tyler Hagen (Union Grove, Wis./Union Grove).
Witter made three saves in the second half to record his first career win.
The Pointers travel to Gustavus Adolphus on Tuesday (Sept. 22) for a 2:00 p.m. tilt against the Gusties in Minnesota.
