STEVENS POINT, Wis. – The UW-Stevens Point men's soccer team (2-3-0) fell to Augustana (1-1-1) by a 2-0 final on Saturday.
Neither team scored in the first half with UWSP out-shooting Augustana by a 6-2 margin in the first 45 minutes.
In the 82nd minute, Augustana was awarded a penalty kick. The Auggies converted to take a 1-0 lead. Four minutes later, Augustana struck again putting UWSP in a 2-0 hole.
The Pointers had three shots on goal in the second half but couldn't solve AC goalkeeper Elias Banke, who made nine saves.
UWSP hits the road to take on Beloit on Tuesday (Sept. 15) at 4:00 p.m. to start a three-match road swing.
