EAU CLAIRE, Wis. — The UW-Stevens Point men's and women's track and field teams competed in the Dick and Mary Johnson Invite, hosted by UW-Eau Claire, on Saturday afternoon.
 
Results
 
Madeline Zirbel (De Pere, Wis./De Pere) secured a first-place finish in the high jump with a mark of 1.68 meters, setting a new meet record. In the women's 1500-meter run, Natalie Johnson (Sun Prairie, Wis./Sun Prairie) finished fourth, clocking a time of 4:47.64. Brenna Steinagel (Merrill, Wis./Merrill) recorded a toss of 36.28 meters in the javelin throw to take fourth place.
 
On the men's side, Benjamin Cihasky placed second in the 800-meter run with a time of 1:54.73. Sean Heetland (North Aurora, Ill./West Aurora) finished third in the 1500-meter run, crossing the line in 3:59.52. In the field events, Jack Marsh (Pulaski, Wis./Pulaski) secured a third-place finish in the hammer throw with a mark of 55.82 meters and placed fourth in the discus throw with a distance of 48.75 meters.
 
The Pointers men's and women's track and field teams are back in action on Friday (May 1) for day one of the WIAC Outdoor Championships (pres. by Culver's) hosted by UW-La Crosse. The multi events will start the two-day meet at 1:00 p.m.
