LA CROSSE, Wis. — The UW-Stevens Point men's and women's track and field teams participated in the Esten Challenge hosted by UW-La Crosse on Thursday and Friday afternoon.
Results
The Pointers had several notable performances at the Phil Esten meet. In the women's 10,000-meter run,
Faith Wehrman (New Berlin, Wis./Eisenhower) finished second with a time of 36:05.31.
Lindsey Jossie (Pulaski, Wis./Pulaski) secured a sixth-place finish in the 1,500-meter run with a time of 4:39.85.
Janessa Karau (Baldwin, Wis./Baldwin-Woodville) achieved a fourth-place finish in the javelin throw with a mark of 35.46 meters. The 4x400 meter relay team of
Elida Nerothin (Madison, Wis./Lakeside Lutheran),
Adyn Theriault (Fort Atkinson, Wis./Fort Atkinson),
Emma Groff (Hartland, Wis./Arrowhead) and
Maddy Boehnlein (Mount Calvary, Wis./Hartford Union) placed sixth with a time of 4:01.60
On the men's side,
Evan Paul (Medford, Wis./Medford) showed versatility in the decathlon with first place in the 100-meter dash, clocking an 11.06. Paul placed sixth overall with a score of 6371.
Jack Gjovik (Eagle River, Wis./Northland Pines) placed eighth in the triple jump reaching 14.36 meters. The men's 4x100 meter relay team of
Andrew Vold (Wisconsin Rapids, Wis./Lincoln),
Rylan Mendoza (Neenah, Wis./Neenah),
Drew Zinkel (Green Bay, Wis./Southwest) and
Isaiah Floyd (/) finished eighth with a time of 42.30.
The men's and women's track and field teams are back in action on April 25 to compete in the Dick & Mary Johnson Invite in Eau Claire.
