STEVENS POINT, Wis. – The UW-Stevens Point men's volleyball team (10-10) earned its third-straight win by sweep with a 3-0 win over Maranatha Baptist (0-13) in the home finale for UWSP.
Rikhil Patidar (Waukesha, Wis./South) posted his first career double-double with 10 kills and match-high 10 digs.
Andrew Yang (Maplewood, Minn./Tartan) recorded a game-high 11 kills.
Braeden Fawcett (New Lenox, Ill./Lincoln Way Central) and
Alex Kimbel (Madison, Wis./Memorial) both had double-digit assists with 18 and 12, respectively.
Alec Peterson (Madison, Wis./Memorial) had two aces and a kill as UWSP began with a 7-2 lead in the first.
Dylan Niznik (Antioch, Ill./Antioch Community) had two kills and an ace as the Pointers took a 17-7 lead. Niznik and
Jake Knoblock (Mequon, Wis./Homestead) each had an ace late as the Pointers won the first set, 25-15.
Patidar had a kill and an ace in a 5-0 run as the Pointers went up, 6-3, in the second. Patidar and
Owen Andersen (Racine, Wis./Case) had two kills each and Patidar served another ace for a 17-13 advantage.
Josh Drollinger (Bloomington, Minn./Jefferson) had two kills late as UWSP took the second, 25-21.
Kimbel served consecutive aces and Yang had five kills as UWSP took control with a 15-3 lead in the third.
Riley Brown (Northbrook, Ill./Glenbrook North) and Knoblock each had an ace as UWSP rolled to a 25-9 win to complete the sweep.
UWSP travels to Loras on March 11 for a 6:00 p.m. match against the Duhawks.
