DUBUQUE, Iowa – The UW-Stevens Point men's volleyball team (10-11) fell in three sets, 25-20, 25-16, 25-17, at No. 15 Loras (15-4) on Wednesday.
Hudson Dresen (Franksville, Wis./Union Grove) was the only Pointer with double-figure kills with a match-high 12. He also led the Pointers with nine digs.
Sam Jolin (Middleton, Wis./Middleton) and
Ben Feld (Franklin, Wis./Franklin) each added 13 assists.
Dresen had a kill and Feld served an ace for a quick 2-0 lead in the first.
Owen Andersen (Racine, Wis./Case) had a pair of kills as UWSP clung to an 8-7 advantage.
Dylan Niznik (Antioch, Ill./Antioch Community) had a kill and an ace late as UWSP came up short after Loras had a 10-2 mid-set run.
Ethan Jetzer (Milwaukee, Wis./Ronald Reagan) had two kills as UWSP stayed close at 10-8 in the second.
Nate Arndorfer (Lino Lakes, Minn./Totino Grace) added a block and kill. Dresen had a pair of kills late as UWSP fell behind, 2-0.
Dresen had a kill and an ace as the Pointers took a 4-1 lead to start the third. He had two more kills as UWSP took a 10-8 lead. Dresen had four more kills in the set as Loras completed the sweep.
The Pointers travel to Michigan on Saturday (Mar. 14) for matches against Adrian and Franklin at 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. ET, respectively.
