GREENWOOD, Ind.—
Josiah Butler (Appleton, Wis./Fox Valley Lutheran) and
Carter Combs (Stevens Point, Wis./SPASH) of the UW-Stevens Point men's basketball team were recognized as College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District honorees, announced Tuesday (Mar. 24).

Butler received his second-straight CSC Academic All-District recognition. He started and played in all 27 games for the Pointers this season, recording 502 total points, including a free-throw percentage of .898, a field goal percentage of .458 and a three-point percentage of .355. Butler pulled down 94 total rebounds and assisted on 51 buckets for the Pointers. This season, he was named the UWSP Pre-Thanksgiving Tournament MVP, All-WIAC first-team honors, NABC All-District second team, D3hoops All-Region third team and recorded his 1000
th career point on January 10 at home in the 84-73 win over UW-Oshkosh.
Combs earned his first CSC Academic All-District honors. He started in 26 games while playing in all 27 games for the Pointers this season, recording 165 total points, including a free-throw percentage of .829, a field goal percentage of .440 and a three-point percentage of .339. Combs pulled down a team-high 163 rebounds and a second-team best of 86 assists. This season, he was named to the UWSP Pre-Thanksgiving Tournament All-Tournament Team and the WIAC All-Defensive Team.
The Pointers ended this season in the first round of the NCAA Tournament, making their 16th NCAA Tournament appearance.
Seth Miron (Appleton, Wis./Kimberly) and
Logan Baumgartner (Medford, Wis./Medford) joined Butler and Combs in earning All-WIAC honors this season, while
Max Raimer (Sun Prairie, Wis./East) earned Co-Newcomer of the Year honors.
Student-athletes selected must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.50, be a sophomore and compete in 90 percent of the institution's games played or must start in at least 66 percent of the institution's games.
