Pointers Win Three Events at Leonard “Squig” Converse Invite

WHITEWATER, Wis.—The UW-Stevens Point men's track and field team and women's pentathlon athletes competed in the Leonard "Squig" Converse Invite and Multi on Friday evening.
 
Results
 
Ben Kempe (Stevens Point, Wis./SPASH) won the 60-meter hurdles with a personal-best time of 8.33, tying UWSP's ninth all-time performance. Simeion Harris (Sandwich, Ill./Sandwich) stopped the clock at 50.45 in the 400-meter dash. Nick Tuchscherer (Stevens Point, Wis./SPASH) took the long jump with a mark of 1.08 meters.
 
Gracie Ridgway (Marshfield, Wis./Marshfield) led the way for the women's pentathlon, finishing third with a score of 3251.
 
Gavin Ridge (Onalaska, Wis./Onalaska) currently leads the Pointer men in the heptathlon, through four events, in third place with a score of 2518.
 
The heptathlon will wrap-up tomorrow (Jan. 31) at 9:00 a.m. UWSP women will compete tomorrow in the Whitewater Invite at 12:00 p.m.
