STEVENS POINT, Wis.—The UW-Stevens Point men's and women's track and field teams hosted the WIAC Triangular, where the men won with a score of 181.5 and the women finish third with a score of 126.
Results
The men were led by
Tyler Nosko (Ramsey, Minn./Anoka),
Nick Tuchscherer (Stevens Point, Wis./SPASH),
Ben Kempe (Stevens Point, Wis./SPASH), Jordan Ukpong and the 4x400-meter relay team.
Nosko raced to a personal-best time of 1:21.84 to finish second in the 600-meter run. Kempe recorded a season-best time of 8.62 in the 60-meter hurdles to take second. Ukpong placed second in the shot put with a mark of 16.00 meters.
Tuchscherer finished atop the triple jump with a mark of 13.39 meters. He also recorded a new personal-best mark of 1.17 meters in the long jump to take second place. The 4x400-meter relay team of
Will Garcia-Heinrich (Waunakee, Wis./Waunakee), Kempe,
Aiden Leist (Hortonville, WIs./Hortonville) and Nosko stopped the clock at 3:28.10.
The women were led by
Bella Harriman (Cloquet, Minn./Cloquet),
Natalee Weiss (Chippewa Falls, Wis./Chippewa Falls),
Elida Nerothin (Madison, Wis./Lakeside Lutheran),
Melanie Princl (West Bend, Wis./West),
Lindsey Taylor (Mukwonago, Wis./Mukwonago),
Lindsey Jossie (Pulaski, Wis./Pulaski) and the 4x400-meter relay team.
Harriman earned a second-place finish in the shot put with a mark of 11.97 meters. She also took fifth in the weight throw with a mark of 14.66 meters. Weiss tied for second in the pole vault with a mark of 3.25 meters.
Nerothin stopped the clock at 1:01.11 in the 400-meter dash, with a new personal-best time. Princl notched a first-place finish in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 9.27. Taylor won the long jump with a mark of 5.43 meters. Jossie notched a new personal-best time of 5:08.26 in the mile run to take first place.
The 4x400-meter relay team of
Maddy Boehnlein (Mount Calvary, Wis./Hartford Union),
Malina Carattini (Mosinee, Wis/Mosinee),
Emma Schmidt (Oshkosh, Wis./West) and
Ella Arenz (Deerfield, Wis./Deerfield) took second with a time of 4:24.85.
The Pointers are back in action on Friday (Jan. 30) for day one of the Whitewater Multi/Leonard "Squig" Converse Invitational, beginning at 1:00 p.m.
