STEVENS POINT, Wis.—The UW-Stevens Point men's and women's track and field teams opened the 2026 indoor season at home for the Pointer Alumni meet, where both men and women finished first of three collegiate teams.
 
Results
 
The men were led by five first-place finishes from Tyler Nosko (Ramsey, Minn./Anoka), Thomas Nelson (New Glarus, Wis./New Glarus), Simeion Harris (Sandwich, Ill./Sandwich), Zachary Bembenek (Stevens Point, Wis./SPASH) and Nick Tuchscherer (Stevens Point, Wis./SPASH).
 
Nosko stopped the clock at 2:33.70 in the 1000-meter run. Nelson took the 3000-meter run with a new personal-best time of 8:55.49.
 
Harris opened his collegiate career with a win in the 300-meter dash with a time of 35.90. Bembenek took the pole vault with a mark of 4.21 meters.
 
Tuchscherer won the long jump with a mark of 7.05 meters. He also placed second in the triple jump with a mark of 13.54 meters.
 
The women were led by six first-place finishes from Brooklyn Schoenick (Wisconsin Rapids, Wis./Assumption), Melanie Princl (West Bend, Wis./West), Hadley Reines (Marinette, Wis./Marinette), Madeline Zirbel (De Pere, Wis./De Pere), Lindsey Taylor (Mukwonago, Wis./Mukwonago) and Michaela Silich (Epworth, Iowa/West Dubuque).
 
Schoenick stopped the clock at 3:17.50 in the 1000-meter run to open her collegiate career. Princl won the 60-meter hurdles with a new personal-best time of 9.11.
 
Reines took the 800-meter run with a time of 2:28.44. Zirbel cleared 1.63 meters in the high jump to take first place.
 
Taylor won the long jump with a mark of 5.20 meters. Silich opened her collegiate career with a mark of 14.50 meters to win the weight throw.
 
The Pointers are back in action on Saturday (Jan. 24) to host the WIAC Triangular beginning at 12:00 p.m. in Skyward Fieldhouse.
