STEVENS POINT, Wis. – UW-Stevens Point head softball coach Ryan Konitzer has announced the addition of Elizabeth Malarski and Elise Brown as assistant coaches on his staff for the 2026 season.

Malarski comes to UWSP after spending the 2025 season as the pitching coach at her alma mater, Edgewood. Prior to coaching in 2025, Malarski played three seasons for the Eagles pitching in 31 games with eight wins and a save. She also played in the outfield hitting .283 with 25 RBI, 17 doubles, a home run and 58 runs scored in 117 games. She was a team captain all three seasons at Edgewood.

She was a three-time NACC Scholar-Athlete at Edgewood, earned academic all-district honors in 2023 and was an Easton/NFCA All-America Scholar-Athlete in 2022. She pitched the seventh no-hitter in Edgewood history on March 22, 2022, against Alverno.

Malarski also played at Cairn University in 31 games over the 2020 and 2021 seasons. She has additional coaching experience with the Park Ridge Pistols.

Brown, also currently an associate lecturer at UWSP, returns to coaching after a solid playing career at Newman Catholic and Wausau West. Brown coached a season at Newman Catholic in 2021 and helped the Cardinals to one of their best offensive seasons and first regional title in half a decade.

Brown played two seasons at Wausau West and two seasons at Newman Catholic. She was the team MVP and a team captain at Newman her sophomore season and an all-conference honorable mention selection that year. At Wausau West, she was an all-conference honorable mention selection as a junior and a team captain her senior year before suffering a season-ending injury.

The Pointers went 31-15 last season and reached the NCAA Tournament Super Regional Round for the first time in school history. UWSP returned to the NCAA Tournament for the second-straight year in 2025, just the second repeat trip to the postseason (1998 & 1999).
