ST. PAUL, Minn. – The UW-Stevens Point men's tennis team defeated Hamline by a final of 5-2 on Saturday.
The Pointers won the doubles team point as
Ayden Knuth (Manitowoc, Wis./Lincoln) and
Malcolm Rice (Marion, Iowa/Linn Mar) took a 6-1 win at No. 2 and
Conner Kryscio (Menomonee Falls, Wis./Menomonee Falls) and
Jacob Stinski (Oshkosh, Wis./West) got a 6-4 win at No. 3.
Kryscio earned a No. 2 singles win, 6-2, 6-1.
Anthony Janes (Bismarck, N.D./Legacy) won at No. 4 singles by a 6-1, 6-4 score. Rice picked up a 6-3, 6-1 win at No. 5 singles.
At No. 3 singles,
Hayden Schreier (Stoughton, Wis./Stoughton) got a win by default in memory of Hamline player Cooper Johnson, who passed away this summer.
The Pointers return to action at the ITAs on Friday (Sept. 26).
