LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Sophomore pitcher
Morgan Harwood (Neenah, Wis./Neenah) garnered her second-straight National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) All-Region VIII first team nod, the organization announced on Friday (May 16).

Harwood picks up her second-straight region honor after setting school records for starts and appearances in a single season this year. Her start on Thursday in the NCAA Regional opener was her 25th and her start on Friday, was her 38th appearance of the season, both school records.
She leads all WIAC pitchers with 158 strikeouts this season. Her 16 wins are one shy of the conference lead.
Harwood was named to her second-consecutive All-WIAC first team earlier this week. In March, she earned WIAC Pitcher of the Week honors twice.
In February and again in March, Harwood started a combined no-hitter against Ripon and New England, respectively. She tossed 4.1 no-hit innings in Thursday's NCAA Regional opener against Central.
She becomes the 12th UWSP softball player to earn all-region honors in consecutive seasons.

Ashley Zygowski (Saukville, Wis./Port Washington) have tossed a pair of combined shutouts for the Pointers in the NCAA Tournament this week.
UWSP advanced to the NCAA Tournament Regional Championship game with a 1-0 win over UW-Oshkosh today. The Pointers will face the winner of Regional Game 5 at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday (May 17).
