WHITEWATER, Wis. – The UW-Stevens Point men's tennis team was shut out, 7-0, at UW-Whitewater in league action on Saturday.
The Pointers No. 2 doubles pair of
Conner Kryscio (Menomonee Falls, Wis./Menomonee Falls) and
Ben Temple (Rockford, Ill./Lutheran) played to a tiebreak, falling 7-6 (2). UWSP's No. 3 doubles pair of
Dawson Froemming (Cedarburg, Wis./Cedarburg) and
Dominik Hendrickson (Menomonie, Wis./Menomonie) nearly forced a tiebreak falling short, 7-5.
Frederick Diehl (Minneapolis, Minn./Academy of Holy Angles) dropped his No. 4 singles match, but forced a tiebreak in the second set, 6-3, 7-6 (5).
Steven Benoy (Stoughton, Wis./Stoughton) won nine games at No. 1 singles, but came up short, 6-4, 7-5.
The Pointers close out conference play against UW-La Crosse on April 22 at 3:00 p.m. at University Courts.
