INDIANAPOLIS, Ind.—The UW-Stevens Point men's track team earned three individual NCAA Indoor National Championships qualifications.
Ian Lillquist (New Prague, Minn./New Prague) qualified for the triple jump with a mark of 14.49 meters. Lillquist earned his qualifying mark at the UW-Oshkosh Titan Challenge on February 22, where he placed third.
Derek Penzkover (Rice Lake, Wis./Rice Lake) qualified for the mile run with a time of 4:08.83. Penzkover recorded his qualifying time, a personal best, at the La Crosse Final Qualifier on March 8, where he took second place.
Austin Rennhack (Columbus, Wis./Columbus) qualified for the shot put with a mark of 17.15 meters. Rennhack's mark not only earned him a trip to the Indoor National Championships, but also the new school record at the UW-Oshkosh Titan Challenge on February 22, where he won the shot put.
Lillquist, Penzkover and Rennhack will compete at the NCAA Indoor Championships in Rochester, N.Y, beginning March 14.
