HOFFMAN ESTATES, Ill. – The UW-Stevens Point women's wrestling team sent 10 participants to Midlands on Tuesday and placed seventh in the 17-team event.
 
Results
 
Brooke Schuenemann (Plymouth, Wis./Plymouth Comprehensive) placed fifth in the 145 bracket. She earned four wins on the day, three were by fall and she won by tech fall in the fifth-place match.
 
Alexis Winecke (Baraboo, Wis./Baraboo) took sixth in the 110 bracket. She won three times on the day, two by tech fall and once by fall.
 
Amelia Adams (La Crosse, Wis./Logan) won twice by fall in the 124 bracket. Nadia Fuentes (Janesville, Wis./Craig) and Shaina Hyre (Lawrenceville, Ill./Lawrenceville) both competed in the bracket as well.
 
Cadie Percy (Windsor, Colo./Windsor) picked up two wins by decision in the 138 bracket. Amerrah Kayon (Kenosha, Wis./Shoreland) won twice in the 160 bracket, once each by fall and tech fall. Kara Kuge (Theresa, Wis./Lomira) got two wins, both by tech fall in the 180 bracket.
 
Hollis Nelson (Milwaukee, Wis./Whitefish Bay) got a win by tech fall in the 117 bracket. Cera Philson (Thorp, Wis./Thorp) competed in the 131 bracket.
 
The Pointers return to action by hosting the Pointer Duals on Jan. 10 beginning at 12:00 p.m.
