WHITEWATER, Wis. – The UW-Stevens Point men's soccer team (8-2-2, 0-1-0) fell at UW-Whitewater (6-3-0, 1-0-0) by a 1-0 final on Saturday in the conference opener.
The Warhawks got on the board in the 23rd minute on their first shot on goal of the match. UWW nearly doubled its lead in the 39th minute, hitting the post instead as UWSP trailed 1-0 at the half.
Marcelo Chavez (Verona, Wis./Verona Area) and
Connor Urban (Waukesha, Wis./West) forced three saves out of the UWW goalkeeper in the second half to no avail.

Jacob Havlik (Onalaska, WIs./Onalaska) was only tested twice in the match. He made one save.
The Pointers are back home on Tuesday (Oct. 7) for a 7:30 p.m. non-conference match against Marian.
