STEVENS POINT, Wis. – The UW-Stevens Point men's soccer team (12-3-3, 2-2-1) fell to visiting UW-Eau Claire (10-2-4, 4-0-1) by a 3-0 final on Thursday.
 
The Pointers held the Blugolds off the board in a scoreless seesaw affair. 
Jaxon Buckley (Kingsford, Mich./Kingsford) had the first go at goal in the first minute of play forcing the only save the UWEC goalkeeper would make.
 
UWSP's defense held the Blugolds without a shot on frame in the first 45. UWEC earned the only two corner kicks in the first half.
 
UWEC broke the tie in the 48th minute with the eventual match-winner. The Blugolds doubled the deficit in the 62nd minute.
 
The Pointers nearly pulled one back in the 69th minute. 
Charlie McGinnis (Verona, Wis./Verona Area) got a shot on goal off a throw-in, but it was saved off the line by a Blugolds' defender.
 
UWEC added a third goal in the 86th minute to complete the scoring.

Jacob Havlik (Onalaska, WIs./Onalaska) had two saves in the match.
 
The Pointers will host a WIAC Tournament first round match on Tuesday (Nov. 4) at 7:30 p.m. The opponent will be determined following the remaining conference matches to be played on Friday (Oct. 31).
