RIVER FALLS, Wis. – The UW-Stevens Point men's soccer team (12-2-3, 2-1-1) held of for a 4-3 win at UW-River Falls (3-8-3, 0-3-1) on Friday.
Jaxon Buckley (Kingsford, Mich./Kingsford) got the scoring started with a goal in the 20th minute.
Connor Urban (Waukesha, Wis./West) registered an assist for his first point of the night.
Vincent Bianco (Wheaton, Ill./Wheaton) doubled the lead in the 30th minute with
Jet Oehrlein (Warrenville, Ill./Wheaton Warrenville South) providing an assist on the play.
Just 23 seconds into the second half, Urban put the Pointers up, 3-0.
Marcelo Chavez (Verona, Wis./Verona Area) had an assist on the play.
In the 57th minute, Urban had an assist for his third point of the night on
Devin Wilkerson's (La Crosse, Wis./Central) eventual game-winner.
The Falcons pushed for a comeback with goals in the 62nd, 69th and 78th minutes to make it a one-goal match late.
Jacob Havlik (Onalaska, WIs./Onalaska) made six saves in 77:48 of action.
Noah Grieshaber (Normal, Ill./University) played the final 12:12 and had one save to preserve the win.
The Pointers are home on Thursday (Oct. 30) for a 7:30 p.m. tilt against UW-Eau Claire in the regular season finale.
