STEVENS POINT, Wis. – The UW-Stevens point men's soccer team (11-2-3, 1-1-1) got its first conference win with a convincing 6-0 victory over UW-Stout (1-11-3, 0-3-0) on Friday night.
Devin Wilkerson (La Crosse, Wis./Central) got the Pointers on the board in the seventh minute of play with a header goal. His eventual game-winner was assisted on by
Jaxon Buckley (Kingsford, Mich./Kingsford) and
Carter Smith (Milton, Wis./Milton).
Noah Johnson (Bemidji, Minn./Bemidji) gave the Pointers a 2-0 lead with senior
Cameron Jochimsen (Freedom, Wis./Freedom) getting the assist.
Connor Urban (Waukesha, Wis./West) pushed the lead to 3-0 in the 49th minute. Buckley notched his second assist of the night.
Buckley was at it again in the 66th minute dishing his third assist of the night to
Vincent Bianco (Wheaton, Ill./Wheaton).
Thirty-one seconds later, a Blue Devils' own goal gave UWSP a 5-0 lead.
Bianco netted his second of the night in the 75th minute. Urban picked up his second point of the night with an assist.
Jacob Havlik (Onalaska, WIs./Onalaska) made two saves in 79:27 of action.
Blayton Will (Appleton, Wis./West) completed the shutout with 10:33 in net without needing to make a save.
The Pointers travel to UW-River Falls on Friday (Oct. 24) at 3:00 p.m. for the final road match of the regular season.
