Pointers’ Havlik Saves PK, Shuts Out Pioneers

STEVENS POINT, Wis. – The UW-Stevens Point men's soccer team (9-2-3, 0-1-1) played visiting UW-Platteville (6-2-4, 0-0-2) to a 0-0 tie in league play on Saturday.
 
UWSP goalkeeper Jacob Havlik (Onalaska, WIs./Onalaska) made a save in the seventh minute and again the 40th minute as the teams remained deadlocked at 0-0 at the break.
 
In the 65th minute, the Pioneers were awarded a penalty kick. Havlik made the save to keep the game scoreless.
 
Vincent Bianco (Wheaton, Ill./Wheaton) and Jet Oehrlein (Warrenville, Ill./Wheaton Warrenville South) each forced a save out of UWP goalkeeper Seth Aiken.
 
The Pointers remain at home to face St. Scholastica in the non-conference finale on Monday (Oct. 13) at 5:00 p.m.
