Pair of First Half Goals Back First Shutout by Grieshaber

STEVENS POINT, Wis. – Freshman goalkeeper Noah Grieshaber (Normal, Ill./University) recorded his first career shutout as the UW-Stevens Point men's soccer team (10-2-3) shut out St. Scholastica (2-9-4) by a 2-0 final in the non-conference finale for the Pointers.

The Pointers reached the 10-win plateau for the first time in program history. UWSP finished with eight wins in the team's inaugural season in 2024.

Connor Urban (Waukesha, Wis./West) gave the Pointers a lead in the 10th minute. His fifth goal of the season and the eventual game-winner was assisted on by Marcelo Chavez (Verona, Wis./Verona Area).

Urban got an assist in the 29th minute and Noah Johnson's (Bemidji, Minn./Bemidji) fourth goal of the season pushed the advantage to 2-0.

Grieshaber took matters into his hands from there, making two saves, both in the second half, to record his first career shutout.

The Pointers are home again on Friday (Oct. 17) for a 7:30 p.m. conference match against UW-Stout.
