Pointers Win Five Events in Road Dual Loss

MARQUETTE, Mich.—The UW-Stevens Point swimming and diving team won five events in road dual loss to Northern Michigan. The UWSP men finished with a score of 106 to Northern Michigan's 161. The women finished with a score of 87 to 186.
 
Results
 
The Pointer men were led by Declan Trant (Downers Grove, Ill./Downers Grove South), Camden Barwick (Weston, Wis./D.C. Everest) and Scott Jenn (Madison, Wis./Memorial). Trant won the one-meter diving with a final score of 512.85.
 
Barwick won the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 21.30. He also took second in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 48.55. Barwick, Peter McMahon (Whitefish Bay, Wis./Whitefish Bay), Matthew Loy (Mazomanie, Wis./Wisconsin Heights) and Beckett McGraw (Oswego, Ill./Oswego) finished second in the 400-yard freestyle relay with a time of 3:13.09.
 
Jenn took the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 2:01.40, with Wyatt Gross (Geneva, Ill./Geneva Community) finishing just behind him with a time of 2:06.45. Jenn finished second in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 55.05, with Campbell Sullivan (Sun Prairie, Wis./Sun Prairie) finishing fourth with a time of 57.21.
 
The women were led by Kyler Ernst (Fountain City, Wis./Luther) and Hollyn Ambre (Batavia, Ill./Batavia). Ernst, Ambre, Kasey Fris (New Lenox, Ill./Lincoln Way West) and Maddy Magle (Sheboygan, Wis./Kohler) took second in the 400-yard freestyle relay with a time of 3:45.82.
 
Ernst took the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 1:01.56. She also notched a second-place finish in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 1:03.61.
 
Ambre won the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:58.67. She finished the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:23.68 to take second place.
 
The Pointers are back in action at home on Friday (Jan. 24) for day one of the Point Invite, with the first session beginning at 9:30 a.m.
