STEVENS POINT, Wis. – The UW-Stevens Point men's soccer team (0-0-2) got a late goal to pull out a 1-1 home draw against visiting Edgewood (1-1-1) on Tuesday.
The visiting Eagles took a 1-0 lead in the 19th minute and held to lead at the break.
Late in the match,
Jack Hudson (Delafield, Wis./Arrowhead) took a throw in near the corner flag. His toss was headed off the end line by
Riley Nycz (De Pere, Wis./De Pere) and
Cameron Jochimsen (Freedom, Wis./Freedom) rifled a shot of the cross bar and in for the equalizer.
UWSP goalkeeper Jack Havlik made four saves in the match. EC goalkeeper Maverick Van Laanen had three saves.
The Pointers travel to Lakeland on Saturday (Sept. 7) for the first road match in program history. Start time in Plymouth is set for 1:00 p.m.
