APPLETON, Wis. – The UW-Stevens Point men's soccer team (4-1-3) scored five times in the second half in a 5-0 win at Lawrence (1-4-2) on Wednesday.
The Pointers weathered a scoreless first half as
Jacob Havlik (Onalaska, WIs./Onalaska) made the only two saves of the match that UWSP needed to make for a clean sheet.
Jack Hudson (Delafield, Wis./Arrowhead) broke the tie with a goal in the 56th minute.
Kaidan Vanderweele (Bettendorf, Iowa/Bettendorf) notched his first career point with an assist on the eventual game-winner.
In the 74th minute,
Cameron Jochimsen (Freedom, Wis./Freedom) made it 2-0 off an assist from
Carson Fitzgerald (Middleton, Wis./Middleton).
Devin Wilkerson (La Crosse, Wis./Central) scored his first of the night in the 81st minute, an unassisted goal.
Alex Granados (Menasha, Wis./Menasha) netted his first collegiate goal in the 84th minute with
Keegan Bell (McFarland, Wis./McFarland) getting an assist.
Wilkerson tallied his second of the night to finish the scoring in the 89th minute.
Owen Zikowski (Racine, Wis./Union Grove) added a helper on the play.
The Pointers remain in the road with a match at St. Scholastica on Monday (Sept. 23). Kickoff in Duluth is set for 3:00 p.m.
